My Favorite Romance Books!

I think we can all agree that absolutely nothing beats the feeling of reading a good romance book. The way you get so invested in the relationship, and get so attached to the characters. And as Valentine's day rapidly approaches I thought it would only be appropriate to recommend some of my dearest and deeply loved romance books. Some are very popular, some are underrated gems, and some are a little in between.

The Love Hypothesis - Ali Hazelwood

This fake-dating, STEM romance is a staple in the book community, and for a reason. Ali Hazelwood writes such fantastic characters, and the tension between Olive and Adam could be cut with a knife. The writing, the story, the characters, everything, will keep you hooked. A must-read.

People We Meet on Vacation - Emily Henry

One thing I absolutely die for when it comes to romance books is friends to lovers. It is just my favorite trope of all time! This follows two best friends who go on vacation together every summer until something occurs that breaks their friendship apart. Some years later, they go on vacation again and a lot goes down. This also switches between past and present, which I personally love when books do that! I flew through this book and would repeat it in a heartbeat. The character's chemistry is insane and so well-written. Emily Henry is just a fantastic author in general.

Heartbreak for Hire - Sonia Hartl

Since we're on the topic of book tropes I love, let's talk about workplace romances! I adore this trope. The characters work together in close proximity, the tension, and banter on high. Well, this takes a fun spin on that! Brinkley works at Heartbreak for Hire, a secret service that specializes in revenge for jilted lovers, frenemies, etc. But when her boss announces she’s hiring male heartbreakers for the first time, Brinkley’s no longer so sure she’s doing the right thing—especially when her new coworker turns out to be a target she was paid to take down. This is just a dreamy romance full of quick-wit banter, laugh-out-loud humor, and a delightful charm that makes it impossible to set this book down. Super underrated too!!

Seven Days in June - Tia Williams

This is truly one of the most beautiful books I have ever read. Not only is this a gorgeous story, but the writing just drew me into the characters. The romance is stunning, you can clearly see how connected the characters are, no matter how much they want to deny it, and how they are the true embodiment of soulmates. This is a story of second-chance love between two high school sweethearts who even though they physically moved on, never truly got over each other. I love it so much!!

Every day - David Levithan

I cannot express how much I love this book. I will admit, it's weird at some points, but the overall concept is weird and wacky, so you have to go into this open-mindedness. A wakes up in a new body every single day, and it's been this way their whole life. One day they meet a girl who they feel an instant connection to, and need to find again...but they're in a new body every day. See what I mean? Honestly, the plot is so interesting, and the writing is absolutely stunning. This is one of my most annotated books because I had so much to say and the writing is just gorgeous. I actually was joking that this book feels like a drug just because of how good the writing is. I also just adore the way love is portrayed in this book, it's shown as something more than a material, on-the-surface feeling, and more of a soulful connection and meaningful feeling. It's also a trilogy which is super cool!

Love & Other Words - Christina Lauren

This is another friend to lovers that follows two friends who were close while growing up but had a falling out over a mysterious reason, and it's in dual POV between the past and the present! This is truly one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read and it has a special place in my heart. The writing is so good, the characters are phenomenal, the story was heart-wrenching, and I sobbed my eyes out. It has all the important parts of a perfect book. I consider this book to be perfect....and honestly any Christina Lauren book! I just love Christina Lauren. But anyhow, this is a fantastic book and you should absolutely read it!

And that wraps up this list! There are not too many because I am a little picky when it comes to romance, but I can't wait to add more to this list as I read more! I'll probably do an updated list next time Valentine's day comes around. Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you found some new books to read! See you in the next post....

Xoxo,

Opal
