“Within an hour, I’d created a storm of emotion filled with shadows and pain and the sensation of falling down a long dark well with no bottom”

Heartbreak For Hire is a dreamy romance full of quick-wit banter, laugh-out-loud humor, and a delightful charm that makes it impossible to set this book down. I loved every part of this book and was left on the edge of my seat when the end came around. With a plot that's begging to be devoured and characters who feel too real to be fictional, this is a must-read for any romance fan.

-Plot-

The plot of this book was to die for! The business-themed romance trope is one of my favorites, but only if done right, and this was done fantastically! Not only did this book have me smiling, laughing, screaming, and crying but had me aching for more. On top of that, the author worked in exceptional plot twists that I didn't see coming at all. The plot was fast-paced, but not rushed. The author also included an exciting aspect to the story, the business that the main characters (Brinkley) worked at! It was a shock to me when I learned the true meaning of the title of the book, but I love the way it added to the plot, and romance aspect. It easily set up many moments for adorable romantic, tense interactions between the two main characters. Hands down one of my favorite parts of this book!

-Characters-

These characters had just the right amount of depth and the right number of unique characteristics. Each character was very realistically built and made me feel like they were quite real. I also liked how the main character didn’t fall into the basic main character outline that seems to be prominent in many romance novels. She had her own story and passion for multiple things in her life. The love interest also wasn’t the typical boring “broody dark-haired” person. He had a unique story and was super sweet.

-Romance-

Overall, the romance in this book was spot-on perfect! The tension between these two characters plus the banter was just delicious. I cannot describe using a different word. They had irresistible chemistry and fit together like two halves that came together to form a perfect whole.

Heartbreak For Hire was a wild ride and one that I would take millions of times again if I could. I am so sad that I will not be able to continue this journey with these characters but am delighted that I can have a part in recommending this to others who would enjoy it just as much as I did!

If you liked The Hating Game, read this!!

Trigger warnings: misogyny, sexism, emotional/verbal abuse, toxic parental relationship
